Adam Caine, our bro and a bro-down guitarist, has a new website, which is linked to right.
Joe and i and other Members of the Order travelled to D.C. this past snowy weekend to see a reunion show by Hoover, one of our absolute favorite bands. The show was everything we could have hoped for, with almost all the music from both their lone L.P., The Lurid Traversal of Route 7--a Stay Fucked five-star, gold-crown motherfucker, and their s/t E.P being rendered. brutal, passionate and severely in-the-pocket music. looks like they'll be playing more shows and possibly writing and recording new stuff, so... you gotta go and see.
new High on Fire is, of course, heavy, but i gotta say, it bores the shit out of me. it's EXTREMELY generic, which is i guess what people would want out of a band like that (i.e. pure Sabbath worship), but i just find it uninspiring. Big Business, on the other hand, is the real deal, emanating whiffs of the future and of the best elements of Sabbath and good melodic stuff. as i always say, it's about the songs, baby. watch for more singing in Stay Fucked, by the way. new Behold... the Arctopus hurts my head like looking at a pinwheel; i barf from motion-sickness, but i feel so pure and invigorated afterwards.
again, 2/26 is showtime and the date to beat. watch it.
